While waiting for more mods to update to the newly released 1.2, Sam wanted to do a lighter series closer to vanilla, as well as in order to check out the update for himself. Sam used the vanilla Rich Explorer scenario, but made it so that psyfocus costed 25% of what they normally did, casting took 50% of the time it normally did, they started with the research tree sowing, and most notably, all characters explode on death.

Trivia
- Sarg Bjornson, the maker of the mod "Vanilla Cooking Expanded: Sushi", updated the mod to actually include a recipe for making sushi with human meat. Sam didn't realize that he wouldn't have been able to open a cannibal sushi restaurant at first, and thanked Sarg in episode 3 for the mod update.
- The main goal for the series wasn't thought up until the middle of episode 1 when Sam noticed that "Vanilla Cooking Expanded: Sushi" added wasabi as a growable crop. Hokus and Mondo were quickly given the cannibal trait so they could make human sushi to eat.
- This series marks the first appearance of both pawns Hokus and Mondo.
- This series is directly continued in the next: Space Simulation.
