Introduction

Beyond the Rim is Darkspace - an area so hostile and destructive that only a few planets can support life, and even then the worlds are hostile and destruction, with only the bravest or most resourceful surviving. On one of those very planets, dubbed "Yayo Planets", three survivors from three unique tragedies find themselves in an equally dangerous situation and band together to try and thrive on a planet of pure chaos.

Series Summary

In this series, Roboddaddi, Fingers and Sharymus tried and succeeded at surviving the harshest weather conditions possible in a planet full of threats.

After episode 12, the series had a bit of a rework as the UnKillables, due to the extreme difficulty caused by some problems with the modpack. The characters were edited and certain mods removed, like a mod that added a lot of diseases or the need for ammo.

In the new Killables series, Sam recruited a lot more Immortals

Summary by Episode

  • In Episode 13, the series was rebooted. The Immortals revived and moved into a more friendly biome to start off. Several mods were removed to make the challenge a bit more fair. The Immortals grabbed a new prisoner, Brando Baeta.
    • A small quickening happened as Sharymus hunted a hare.
  • In Episode 14, the Immortals unlocked the multi-analyzer and caught up with all the tech development that took 12 episodes to achieve beforehand.
    • There was a wanderer event and Miller joined the colony.
  • In Episode 15, the Immortals prepare to face the Ice Age.
    • The joiner, Miller, betrayed the colony and got promptly shot and beaten to death.
    • Additionally, Robodaddy suffered temporary brain damage and died of bloodloss after a gunfight (he got better).
    • In an effort to buy his people the greatest chance at survival, Sam forbade the door to the prison, letting the prisoners starve and focusing on the recruited colonists.
    • Lastly, with temperatures quickly dropping, an isolated bunker built, and as many meals cooked as possible, the Immortals and Baeta locked themselves away from the outside, ready to face whatever the Ice Age would throw at them.
  • In Episode 16, the Ice Age is finally here. Amidst the cold mist, a wanderer joined into the colony, Taske Rin. This forced the colonists to open their locked bunker to welcome her in.
    • During this episode, a Solar Flare turned off all the heaters, which forced Sam to deconstruct some of the furniture to build a campfire.
    • Taske Rin turned out to be a traitor and was promptly beaten up and killed.
    • Finally, the ide age ended, heralded by an enemy raid that was quickly dealt with. The Colonists were now free to prepare for the upcoming Age of Fire.
      • It was during this raid that the cast captured Tolda, an Immortal.
  • In Episode 17, a slave trader arrived to the colony, and the Immortals bought two slaves, Rahb and Tapir.
    • During a tragic tornado incident, the prison and storage room were destroyed, causing a prison break and resulting in the escape of many prisoners.
      • During said escapade, Brando Baeta tried to chase another prisoner. As this happened, a nearby trading caravan decided to help and shot a triple rocket launcher, mangling and almost killing Brando Baeta.
    • In this episode, one of the dead raiders, Nadine, also crawled her way out of the colony's mass grave, an immortal .
  • In Episode 18, Sam started looking for new insulating materials, in hopes of surviving the worse that the weather had to offer for the late game.
    • Sam also decreased the chance of Traitor wanderers from the Vanilla Expanded Mod.
    • A new person joined, Inessa Velez, a farmer.
    • The colony also researched Helixien gas, in hopes of finding a way to condition the temperature of their shelters without worrying about Solar Flares.
    • One of the space refugees that the colony rescued from the space battle, King "Boone" Boone, joined the colony too.
  • In Episode 19, the colony rebuilt their heat shelter to prepare for the upcoming inferno, adding an additional air gap.
    • As the heatwave begun, all the prisoners except the Immortals were released.
    • It was at this point that the prisoner Tolda went berserk and tried to escape, but Sharymus punched his head clean-off, absorbing his immortality.
  • In Episode 20, the inferno arrived, and the colonist suffered a bunch of consecutive mental breakdowns, including food-binges of their precious and limited supplies, Robodaddy getting shot in the chest and social fights.
    • Eventually, the colony persisted and it was time to rebuild and to find a new food source.
    • Unfortunately, due to a Zzzt event, Tapir and Boone were burnt and eventually suffered infections, which resulted in his death.
    • They bought an orc slave, Dhutral The Grave, from a group of settlers.
    • Robodaddy also got to rejoice in a line of yayo, for old time's sake.
  • Episode 21 started with a meteor storm, thankfully no casualties or injuries resulted from it. The Killables revamped their whole base, making it more resilient and built from steel, and started trying to recruit the only Immortal left in their prison.
    • Sam also recruited a slave from an orbital trader, Eli McNeil, who started to work on plants as soon as her transport pod landed.
    • The immortal Nadine was also recruited.
    • The colony bought Carina "Leya" Leyathan, an actor, from a slave trader.
  • In Episode 22, Sam renamed the new joiners to names chosen by his Patreon... including the dreaded nickname "Icewolf".
    • After a tribal raid, one of the raiders was found to be an immortal. They were beheaded by Fingers.
    • During a different incident, Pork made all the bison in the map manhunter. The raging bison then downed a recently-revived Immortal which was promptly beheaded by Fingers.
      • Comedically-enough, one of these bison was immortal as well, and their immortality was absorbed by Fingers as he butchered them.
      • Sam also bought a bunch of insectoid genomes, which he then used to enhance the prisoners, harvesting the good mutations.
    • As prophesised by the name, Icewolf died from a triple-rocked launcher. For context, the name Icewolf is known for jinxing a character, and in this case, Icewolf died form something that he had survived before.
    • Finally, another prisoner joined, Alina Salinas, recruited and renamed.
  • Episode 23 started with a raid. In this episode, the colony started getting ready for the upcoming tornado season.
    • Jova "Squankus Squigl" Schwartz joined the colony, a raider from episode 22.
    • Another prisoner, Tewi "Birdhouse von Clawvitz" von Doom was recruited.
  • Episode 24 starts in the middle of tornado season, as Pork and Bear got savaged by a tornado that got too close to the base.
    • During this moment of weakness, a brief prison break happened, which was quickly put down without casualties.
    • The Colony survived the harsh tornado season with no casualties, despite the fact that the tornados were capable of climbing through walls, which is something that they weren't supposed to do according to the Steam page.
  • Episode 25 starts with rebuilding the tornado damage, as well as preparing shelters for the upcoming mad seasons and mining steel for more electronics.
    • As a side note, by this point, Samuel was dying of an irl heatstroke due to his studio's high temperatures.
    • A psychic rain started falling over the colony, increasing the age-rate of the colonists.
    • Samuel said the quote "I mean... trench warfare isn't nice but... war crimes."
    • A space refugee that Samuel had rescued, Jambo McGinn, recovered from her injuries and tried to walk away, but Sam captured her, as she had a healing enhancer and skill that made her very desirable.
  • In Episode 26, Jambo "Bobbert" McGinn was finally recruited and given her new nickname.
    • As an Insect raid happened, Sam noticed that they had a new recruit, Kasumi Vicente, who was quickly renamed to "Koe".
    • Kazumi Crane, another prisoner, was recruited and renamed to "Cass".
  • In Episode 27, Sam started creating the new insulation chamber to prepare for the upcoming ice age.
  • In Episode 28, an insect ship and a raid knocked down a couple of colonists, putting them at death's door, thankfully, everyone recovered without lasting injuries.
    • In the beheading aftermath, Fingers triggered a couple of quickenings.
    • Koe's mother was among these raiders, and her death caused a sad wander.
    • As a gigalocust (a remnant from the previously-mentioned raid) revived itself, Fingers finished it off and triggered a quickening which allowed him to become a Greater Immortal.
    • The Killables spent their last few moments before the ice age trying to cook as much food as possible before locking themselves into their shelter.
  • In Episode 29, Sam prepares to block the insulation chamber.
    • A quest appeared, where an orc, Rhokk Fang Killer sought shelter in exchange for causing foggy rain for a couple of days. Given that the Ice Age was already happening, Sam accepted the new colonist. Rhokk was renamed to "Cat".
    • An immortal raider revived from the mass grave and started wailing on the colony's building. Sharymus was sent to deal with this, given his immortality.
      • After beheading the raider, Sharymus went from lesser to regular immortal.
      • A Zzzt event happened, but Sharymus was able to prevent the stockpile from being lost.
      • As the Ice Age stopped, everyone suffered a lot of mental breakdowns, but the colony pulled through.
      • Once the colony went out, a big raid downed many colonists. One of them was Doves, whose liver was destroyed. This would kill him later.
    • Episode 30 started with Doves dying. Without time to harvest the organs of an Immortal, Doves died of acute liver failure.
      • Sam bought some Cuterpillars to cheer up the colony.
      • Additionally, a group of chickens joined, which were promptly used as bait for the next raid, resulting in a hen with severe brain damage.
        • "He's clucked his last clack, goodbye Hen 1" - Mr. Samuel Streamer.
      • Near the end of the episode, Fingers hunted and beheaded an immortal hare.
    • In Episode 31, Sam saw a comment that enthralled him "Sell yayo for plasteel". He then proceeded to build a drugs lab in the colony mausoleum and start a large psychite plantation.
      • A wanderer joined the colony, Kelly Morales, a woman covered fully in power armour. She was renamed to "Windy Williams".
      • Near the end of the episode, Sam finished his Yayo research.
      • Additionally, two of his prisoners were recruited, Kaito Russo and Abeneiro Cobi, renamed to Ginta Blade and Varlo respectively.
    • In Episode 32, Windy Williams turned out to be a traitor. She was promptly recaptured.
      • Sam also took on the habit of calling Psychite "Cucumbers" and Yayo "Cucumber Paste".
      • The prisoners Blake "Blakey" Norton and Griffin were recruited and renamed to "Bigus Dickus" and "Rim-Rim Robby" respectively.
      • Finally, Sam ended the episode destroying what was left of a Mechanoid cluster, getting ready for the next Inferno.

Trivia

Robodaddy would go and become a person of high importance in the Empire by the time that the Rimworld: Vanilla Expanded Mechanoids series started; being later nuked by his own child. This would be the very last we hear about Robodaddy until his later appearance in Rimworld: Instituted.

Neither Sharymus nor John "Fingers" Box or any of the colonists appeared again in any later series.

This series was one of the earliest cases of the name Icewolf cursing a colonist with death.
